Common issues

The Pro features I bought are locked

Tap Restore Purchases in the app's Settings, signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. If that doesn't fix it, email us with your purchase receipt (from the App Store).

I want to turn off the frame (card) on saved photos

On the free tier, saved and shared photos always go out as a card. Pro lets you turn the frame off or change its typeface in the Frame screen. The name field can be filled in or left blank on free too.

I thought this was a subscription

Thirdstop Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — it never renews or bills you again. If you'd still like a refund, you can request one from Apple using the steps below.

I want a refund

All payments go through Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple, not the developer. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com.

My photos aren't saving

Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos on your iPhone and make sure Thirdstop has photo access. The app only requests add-only access — it never reads your existing library.

The scene says Night, but a different color is loaded

Free uses four scenes — Sunny, Overcast, Cafe and Low Light. When the light reads as Night, Golden, Forest or Street, the closest free scene is loaded instead, while the scene sheet keeps showing what was actually detected. That's why the two can disagree.

Those four scenes are Pro. You can open the scene sheet and preview any of them before buying.

Older photos are gone from the app's Originals

Your photos are fine. Open the Photos app — every shot is saved there the moment you take it, and Thirdstop never deletes them.

Originals isn't a photo library. It's a temporary workspace that keeps your originals so you can put a different film on a shot later. On the free tier it holds the 20 most recent originals (Settings → Originals), and older ones drop off first (photos you've hearted drop off last). A photo that has dropped off simply can't be re-filmed — the picture itself is still in your Photos app. Pro has no limit.

I bought Pro but there's no RAW option in Settings

Also save RAW only appears on devices that support it. On models that don't, the switch would do nothing, so it's hidden entirely. Every other Pro feature — all eight scenes, all films, importing photos, turning the frame off, unlimited originals — works on every device.

Photos at 35mm look a little less sharp

They are. iPhone has no separate 35mm lens, so 28mm and 35mm are the center of the 24mm frame, cropped and enlarged — the same thing that happens when you zoom in, so fine detail softens.

The sharpest photo is always the default focal length. Think of 35mm as choosing how much fits in the frame, not image quality — film cameras start at 35mm, and it's there for people used to that framing. Change it back in Settings → Camera → Default Focal Length, or tap the 1× button on the camera screen.

There's no location in my photos

Location is off by default. Turn on Settings → Save location to photos and the app asks for location permission at that point; shots taken afterwards carry coordinates. Location is used only for the EXIF stamp and the map on a photo's detail screen — never for scene detection.

The preview doesn't match the saved photo's colors

We treat this as a bug. Email us with the scene and look you were using and we'll look into it.
